How to read this number

One path: this browser to one server in Helsinki, over plain HTTPS, now. A Helsinki exit beats a Sydney exit, which is geography rather than provider quality. Your link, Wi-Fi and other traffic move the result.

Run it with the tunnel off, then on. The difference is the overhead.

A single run reads your own connection, never a provider's global network.

What a run actually does

Timed in this browser; the server only serves and swallows bytes. A full run moves 13 MB down, 5 MB up, under a minute.

Transfers ramp from 256 KB up. The smallest is discarded: DNS, TLS and slow-start dominate its elapsed time. Ramping stops when one transfer takes twelve seconds.

Keep this tab in the foreground. Background tabs get throttled and skew results.

Where the run history is kept

This tab only; reloading clears it. Label runs before pressing Run. Nothing stored server side.
